Nakatundu
Who We Are
Nakatundu is a growing group of female artisans based in the Nakatindi community on the outskirts of Livingstone Town, Southern Zambia. Aged between 40 and 80, these women use skills they learnt as young women living in rural villages to create handcrafted products using locally-sourced and up-cycled materials.
Most of our artisans had previously been reliant on support from their families, but through Nakatundu they now have access to income-generating opportunities of their own. In early 2020, the group began working with their sister enterprise, Sishemo, to develop their product range and improve their quality for local and international sales.
As a member of The ABANYA Community, these women will now have increased access to sales through our online shop as well as access to further training and development opportunities.
